Astron (Astro Companion Beta) Privacy Policy

The software is currently in a closed beta. For this reason, some anonymous telemetry data is gathered (on HocketApp, mainly exceptions generated when the software crashes) to help the app's development.

No information on you is being gathered by the software. All the information, preferences and locations defined and found in this or future version of the software will be saved locally on your device and won't be shared with anyone.

The software implements the Windows 10's data roaming functionality so that your preferences are automatically synchronized across your Windows 10 devices linked to your Microsoft account. Michele Mischitelli (the creator of Astron) is in no way able to gain access to these information.

The software uses GPS (your position) to provide core functionalities such as stars and planets' position and weather forecasts. When obtaining the current forecasts your position is sent to MeteoBlue's website in a totally anonymous way: this means that your position is NEVER associated to some kind of data or meta-data that could be linked to you or your Microsoft Account.
